Nextiva Internet Fax Service Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: Nextiva Single User

Pros

  • Prorated refunds available for annual plans cancelled early
  • 30-day free trial period
  • 1,000 combined pages included
  • Low monthly fee for number of pages included

Conclusion

Nextiva’s virtual fax product is an incredible value for those willing to pay annually to benefit from the industry low effective monthly rate of $4.95 ($59.40 per year) for 1,000 monthly sent or received pages. This pricing is extremely compelling considering that they also offer prorated refunds for annual plans cancelled early. The company has also added four additional servers to ensure that the service experiences minimal outages. Nextiva’s customer support was both knowledgeable and responsive. The company offers a 30-day free internet fax trial to test out its service.

eFax Internet Fax Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: eFax Plus

Pros

  • Save 16.6% when you prepay yearly
  • 30-day free trial period
  • Unlimited online fax storage
  • 24/7 phone customer support

Cons

  • Pages in plan aren’t combined
  • High monthly fee for number of pages included

Conclusion

eFax has a good online fax service with the most subscribers of any rival, but its pricing is on the high end.Compared to our Market Standard of $10 per month for 300 free combined pages, eFax Plus is a bit more expensive at $16.95 per month for 150 incoming and 150 outgoing pages. However, eFax does offer the most features of any online fax service including e-signing, iOS and Android mobile apps, a HIPPA compliance option, international faxing capability and 24/7 phone support. Also, eFax added a large file sharing option that allows users to upload large files (up to 3GB) and send the link to up to 20 email addresses, where recipients can download the files. For users needing these features, eFax is worth the higher price tag.

MyFax Email Fax Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: MyFax Best Value

Pros

  • 9% savings when you prepay annually
  • 30-day free fax trial
  • 400 incoming and 400 outgoing pages included
  • Low monhtly fee for number of pages included
  • Unlimited online fax storage
  • Can preview your fax before you send it
  • Can create a “blocked”/ “allowed” call list so that you aren’t charged for blocked calls
  • 24/7 customer support

Cons

  • Pages in plan aren’t combined
  • Experienced multiple power outages in June 2011, Jan 2012, April 2012, and January 2013
  • Experienced customer login issues in June 2011

Conclusion

MyFax has a user-friendly online interface and competitive pricing, although it has had at least four service outages since June, 2011. At $10 per month for 400 incoming and 400 outgoing pages, MyFax is a good option for those who fax regularly. Typically, MyFax only offers “200/100” “incoming/outgoing” fax pages at this price, but FaxCompare users can get this better value, by signing up using our links. Prepaying for a year will bring the monthly rate down further to $9.17. While MyFax customer support has historically been very helpful, we’ve received lots of negative feedback about it as of late. MyFax has a 30-day free online fax trial period to test out the service.

RingCentral Online Fax Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: RingCentral Fax 500

Pros

  • Save 20% when you prepay annually
  • 30-day free trial period
  • 500 combined pages included
  • Low monthly fee for number of pages included
  • Can store 200 messages online for an unlimited amount of time
  • Can send faxes from 25 email addresses and receive faxes on 30 email addresses
  • Can create a “blocked”/”allowed” call list so that you
    aren’t charged for blocked calls

Cons

  • No phone customer support

Conclusion

RingCentral has a solid product that is among the most feature rich. However, they have recently replaced phone support for their fax customers with an online case management system. Customers must submit their issue through the system, and an agent will get back to them within 24 hours. Despite the lack of phone support, RingCentral provides a good value for your money, giving you 500 free combined pages for $9.99 per month, and if you prepay for a year, your monthly rate comes out to $7.99. RingCentral also offers a 30-day free fax trial.

RapidFAX Email Fax Service Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: RapidFAX Individual and Small Business Plan

Pros

  • 30-day free trial period
  • 1,000 combined pages included
  • Low monthly fee for number of pages included
  • Can send faxes from an unlimited number of email addresses and receive faxes at 6 email addresses

Cons

  • Hidden Fee: Charges five cents per fax per month to
store faxes online after 30 days
  • No phone customer support
  • Poor quality customer support

Conclusion

RapidFAX’s special offer of 1,000 pages/ month for $9.95 to FaxCompare customers makes it a very attractive plan for people needing more then 500 pages per month, but the feedback we have received from users of the product has been very negative. Many users have complained about lost faxes as well as being billed after canceling. RapidFAX has a hidden fee that charges you for storing faxes online for more than 30 days. Phone customers support is technically not available. However, it has been our experience that if you call the sales number on the website, the person answering the phone will attempt to answer technical questions. Unfortunately, customer support didn’t answer all of our test questions correctly. RapidFAX offers a 30-day free internet fax trial of its service.

Fax.com Virtual Faxing Service Review:

Faxing Plan Reviewed: Fax.com

Pros

  • 30-day free trial period

Cons

  • Can receive faxes with only two email addresses

Conclusion

Fax.com’s monthly service is priced right at our Market Standard, but its $0.12 per page overage charge is higher than the typical $0.10 per page. Our testing found its customer support to be largely unreliable. If you use the sign-up link through our website, you can test Fax.com’s service free for 30 days.

  • Unlimited online fax storage
  • Can send faxes from an unlimited number of email addresses and receive faxes at 6 email addresses

Cons

  • High monthly fee for number of pages included

Conclusion

TrustFax is a little expensive relative to other online fax plans- most of their competitors offer at least 300 pages for less than $10 per month. However, TrustFax is one of the few online fax services that allows users to e-sign documents from their online interface. TrustFax’s phone customer support representatives were knowledgeable; our emails that we sent were never resolved to our satisfaction. TrustFax has a 30-day free faxing trial.

They are also one of the few companies willing to sign a Business Associate Agreement for professionals that need to address privacy concerns. • $9.95 start-up fee
  • High monthly fee for number of pages included
  • Software/hardware required to send and receive faxes
  • No phone customer support
  • Poor quality customer support
  • No free trial period

Conclusion

ClickFax is not a recommended virtual fax product. There are many other services that are more comprehensive with better customer service. ClickFax only gives you 50 combined pages per month for $9.95, which is roughly 17% of our Market Standard of 300 combined pages. Pros

  • 30-day free trial period
  • Can create a “blocked”/ “allowed” call list so that you

Cons

  • Charges $12 upfront for future overage fees

Conclusion

AirComUSA’s Basic plan is expensive, considering you pay $8.95 per month, plus a $10 setup fee, and don’t receive any free incoming or outgoing fax pages. You’re also charged $12 upfront, but this amount goes to paying for your faxes. With AirComUSA, you must send and receive faxes from your email, but it is a very straightforward and simple process. • Not able to send faxes by email

Conclusion

Sfax has a unique fax offering that focuses on security, but its pricing of $9 per month for 100 free combined pages is a bit on the high end. Faxaway’s fax service is very limiting in that the only area code available for fax numbers is Seattle (area code 206). You must pay a $10 starting balance before being able to use the service, and Faxaway charges $1 per month to store faxes online. With Faxaway, you must send and receive faxes from your email. Faxaway is best suited for people who only fax a few pages per month and want to forego a monthly fee. Faxaway has above average customer support but doesn’t offer a free trial to test out its service.

Fax87 Internet Fax Review:

Fax Plan Reviewed: Fax87 Best Choice

Pros

  • Save 40% when you prepay annually
  • 1,000 combined pages included
  • Low monthly fee for number of pages included
  • Unlimited online fax storage
  • Can send and receive faxes from an unlimited number of
    email addresses

Cons

  • Limitation of 100 faxes you can make per day

Conclusion

Fax87 looks like a good value, but they have been known to significantly increase their prices after customers have signed up. At $9.99 per month for 1000 combined pages, Fax87 gives you a lot of bang for your buck (as long as the price doesn’t change). You get unlimited online fax storage and can fax from an unlimited number of email addresses. This plan is best suited for a company with multiple employees who fax often.

PopFax Service Review:

Fax Plan Reviewed: PopFax Send and Receive

Pros

  • Unlimited incoming and 20 outgoing pages included
  • Offers a package that bundles online fax service with
the ability to receive voice mail, make call transfers, and more
  • Local fax numbers available in 44 states
  • Auto resends for a minute if a fax fails to go through
  • Can send a fax to up to 500 recipients at once

Cons

  • Pages in plan aren’t combined
  • Can’t send faxes by email unless you pay an additional
    $2.50/month
  • No phone customer support
  • Can receive faxes to only 1 email address unless you pay
    an additional $2.50/month

Conclusion

Popfax is a decent online fax service if you need a local number and don’t anticipate sending many faxes. If you expect to send more than 20 fax pages per month, there are other services on the market suited for your needs. Popfax has opted for no phone customer support in favor of email support. Popfax provides a 3-day free trial limited to four faxes to test out their service. This is far below our Market Standard for free trials.

FaxBetter Internet Fax Review:

Fax Plan Reviewed: FaxBetter

Pros

  • Save 20% when you prepay annually
  • 500 combined pages included
  • Low monthly fee for number of pages included
  • Unlimited online fax storage

Cons

  • Can send and receive faxes from only one email address
  • No phone customer support

Conclusion

FaxBetter is very competitively priced but falls short by only offering toll-free fax numbers and only one email address from which to send and receive faxes. If you go over your allotted number of monthly pages, FaxBetter charges you in 250 page increments. FaxBetter only has email customer support, but it was sufficient when we tested it. FaxBetter doesn’t offer a free trial but offers a free account with extreme limitations (you can receive but not send faxes, and you must receive a fax every 7 days or your account expires).

HelloFax Online Fax Review:

Fax Plan Reviewed: HelloFax Premium

Pros

  • Save 20% when you prepay annually
  • 30-day free trial period
  • Local fax numbers available in 50 states
  • Unlimited online fax storage

Cons

  • Only one email address can send and receive faxes
  • No phone customer support

Conclusion

HelloFax is a good option for people who need a local fax number. HelloFax’s main differentiator from other online fax services is that you can sign documents electronically, without using a printer or scanner. At $9.99 per month for 300 free incoming and outgoing pages, HelloFax meets our market standard, but it is more expensive than much of it’s competition. HelloFax has great email customer support but doesn’t offer phone support. HelloFax offers a 30-day free trial. It also has a Google Drive application that syncs HelloFax with Google’s cloud based file storage service.
