- 30-day free trial period
- 500 combined pages included
- Low monthly fee for number of pages included
- One year online fax storage
- Can preview your fax before you send it

- Low overage rates
Cons
- Can only send faxes from one email address
- Experienced multiple outages in October 2011
Conclusion
Nextiva's virtual fax product is good if you need a local fax number at significant value. The company has experienced multiple outages, however, and has added up to four additional servers recently to combat the issue. Nextiva has a very low monthly fee of $8.95 for a combined 500 pages. In addition, you have the option to prepay for a year and bring your effective monthly fee to $4.95. Nextiva's customer support was both knowledgeable and responsive. Faxing Plan Reviewed: MyFax Best Value
Pros
- 9% savings when you prepay annually
- 30-day free fax trial
- One year online fax storage
- Can preview your fax before you send it
- Can create a "blocked"/ "allowed" call list so that you aren't charged for blocked calls
- 24/7 customer support
Cons
- Pages in plan aren't combined
- Experienced multiple power outages in June 2011, Jan 2012, April 2012, and January 2013
- Experienced customer login issues in June 2011
Conclusion
MyFax has a user-friendly online interface and competitive pricing, although it has had at least four service outages since June, 2011. At $10 per month for 200 incoming and 100 outgoing pages, MyFax is a good option for those who fax regularly. Prepaying for a year will bring the monthly rate down to $9.17. While MyFax customer support has historically been very helpful, we've received lots of negative feedback about it as of late. MyFax has a 30-day free online fax trial period.

Faxing Plan Reviewed: eFax Plus
Pros
- Save 16.6% when you prepay yearly
- 30-day free trial period
- Unlimited online fax storage
- 24/7 phone customer support
Cons
- Pages in plan aren't combined
- High monthly fee for number of pages included
Conclusion
eFax has a good online fax service with the most subscribers of any rival, but its pricing is on the high end. Compared to our market standard of $10 per month for 300 free combined pages, eFax costs $16.95 per month for 150 free incoming and 150 free outgoing pages. We've received a great deal of negative feedback about eFax having poor customer support and it being difficult to cancel your service. eFax offers a 30-day free eFax trial.

Faxing Plan Reviewed: RapidFAX Individual and Small Business Plan
Pros
- 30-day free trial period
Cons
- Hidden Fee: Charges five cents per fax per month to store faxes online after 30 days
- Can send and receive faxes from only two email addresses
- Poor quality customer support
Conclusion
RapidFAX is a decently priced online fax service, but the feedback we have received from users of the product has been very negative. Many users have complained about lost faxes as well as being billed after canceling. RapidFAX has a hidden fee that charges you for storing faxes online for more than 30 days. However, at $9.95 per month for 300 combined pages, RapidFAX's pricing is right in line with our Market Standard. Customer support was thorough, but unfortunately, it didn't answer all of our test questions correctly. RapidFAX offers a 30-day free internet fax trial of its service.

Faxing Plan Reviewed: Fax.com
Pros
- 30-day free trial period
Cons
- Can receive faxes with only two email addresses
Conclusion
Fax.com's monthly service is priced right at our Market Standard, but its $0.12 per page overage charge is higher than the typical $0.10 per page. Our testing found its customer support to be largely unreliable. If you use the sign-up link through our website, you can test Fax.com's service free for 30 days.

- Unlimited online fax storage
- Can send and receive faxes from an unlimited number of email addresses
- Can create a "blocked"/ "allowed" call list so that you aren't charged for blocked calls

Conclusion
FaxAge has great pricing, excellent customer service, and gives customers who sign up through our link $5 off their first monthly bill. There is a startup fee and no free faxing trial, which does not meet our Market Standard, but FaxAge?s monthly fee is a few bucks less than our Market Standard price for double the number of pages. Faxing Plan Reviewed: MaxEmail Plus
Pros
- Save 20% when you prepay quarterly and 30% when you prepay annually
- 30-day free trial period
- Can send and receive faxes from 25 email addresses
- High quality customer support
Cons
- $10 start-up fee
- Pages in plan aren't combined
- No phone customer support
Conclusion
MaxEmail's Plus plan is best suited for someone who wants a local fax number. Its monthly fee meets Market Standards at $9.95 for 250 free incoming and 100 free outgoing pages, but the $10.00 startup fee does not meet our expectations. It's important to note that if you get a toll-free fax number, you don't receive any free incoming pages. MaxEmail's customer support answered all of our questions correctly. MaxEmail offers a 30-day free fax trial limited to 100 inbound pages and three 10-page outbound faxes.

Fax Plan Reviewed: ClickFax Budget Send and Receive Plan
Pros
- Can send and receive faxes using 20 email addresses
Cons
- $9.95 start-up fee
- High monthly fee for number of pages included
- Software/hardware required to send and receive faxes
- No phone customer support
- Poor quality customer support
- No free trial period
Conclusion
ClickFax is not a recommended virtual fax product. There are many other services that are more comprehensive with better customer service. ClickFax only gives you 50 combined pages per month for $9.95, which is roughly 17% of our Market Standard of 300 combined pages. Its customer support is extremely poor, and it never answered any of our emails. ClickFax does not provide a free trial.

Fax Plan Reviewed: AirComUSA Basic Fax Plan
Pros
- 30-day free trial period
- Can create a "blocked"/ "allowed" call list so that you aren't charged for blocked calls
- High quality customer support
Cons
- Charges $12 upfront for future overage fees
- $10 startup fee
- No free pages included
- Pages in plan aren't combined
- No online fax storage
- No online interface
Conclusion
AirComUSA's Basic plan is expensive, considering you pay $8.95 per month, plus a $10 setup fee, and don't receive any free incoming or outgoing fax pages. You're also charged $12 upfront, but this amount goes to paying for your faxes. With AirComUSA, you must send and receive faxes from your email, but it is a very straightforward and simple process. AirComUSA's customer support was very helpful, and AirComUSA offers a 30-day free trial.

Fax Plan Reviewed: SFax Basic
Pros
- Save 17.6% when you prepay annually
- 1 year online fax storage
- High quality customer support
Cons
- Only 100 combined pages included
- Can receive fax notifications to only 1 email address
- Not able to send faxes by email
- Must upgrade to a more expensive plan to receive phone customer support
Conclusion
Sfax has a unique fax offering that focuses on security, but its pricing of $9 per month for 100 free combined pages is a bit on the high end. Sfax has designed a service that ensures your documents and data are protected end-to-end using a combination of 128-bit SSL and base64 binary encryption. Sfax's customer support is excellent, and its staff members are very knowledgeable.

Fax Plan Reviewed: Faxaway
Pros
- No monthly fee
- Can send a fax to thousands of recipients at once
Cons
- Charges $1 monthly maintenance fee to store faxes online
- No free trial period
- No free outgoing pages included
- Local fax numbers only available in Seattle, Washington
Conclusion
Faxaway's fax service is very limiting in that the only area code available for fax numbers is Seattle (area code 206). You must pay a $10 starting balance before being able to use the service, and Faxaway charges $1 per month to store faxes online. With Faxaway, you must send and receive faxes from your email. Faxaway is best suited for people who only fax a few pages per month and want to forego a monthly fee. Faxaway has above average customer support but doesn't offer a free trial to test out its service.

Fax Plan Reviewed: PopFax Send and Receive
Pros
- Unlimited incoming and 20 outgoing pages included
- Offers a package that bundles online fax service with the ability to receive voice mail, make call transfers, and more
- Local fax numbers available in 44 states
- Auto resends for a minute if a fax fails to go through
- Can send a fax to up to 500 recipients at once
Cons
- Pages in plan aren't combined
- Can't send faxes by email unless you pay an additional $2.50/month
- No phone customer support
- Can receive faxes to only 1 email address unless you pay an additional $2.50/month
Conclusion
Popfax is a decent online fax service if you need a local number and don't anticipate sending many faxes. If you expect to send more than 20 fax pages per month, there are other services on the market suited for your needs. Popfax has opted for no phone customer support in favor of email support. Popfax provides a 3-day free trial limited to four faxes to test out their service. This is far below our Market Standard for free trials.

Fax Plan Reviewed: FaxBetter
Pros
- Save 20% when you prepay annually
- 500 combined pages included
- Low monthly fee for number of pages included
- Unlimited online fax storage
Cons
- Can send and receive faxes from only one email address
- No phone customer support
Conclusion
FaxBetter is very competitively priced but falls short by only offering toll-free fax numbers and only one email address from which to send and receive faxes. If you go over your allotted number of monthly pages, FaxBetter charges you in 250 page increments. FaxBetter only has email customer support, but it was sufficient when we tested it. FaxBetter doesn't offer a free trial but offers a free account with extreme limitations (you can receive but not send faxes, and you must receive a fax every 7 days or your account expires).
