RapidFAX Conclusion
RapidFAX is a good online fax service with a couple of drawbacks. RapidFAX has a hidden fee that charges you for storing faxes online for more than 30 days. At $9.95 per month for 300 combined pages, RapidFAX's pricing is right in line with our Market Standard. We found their customer support to be thorough, but unfortunately, they didn't answer all of our test questions correctly. RapidFAX offers a 30-day free trial of their online fax service.
The feedback we have received from RapidFAX users has been very negative. Many users have complained about lost faxes as well as being billed after canceling.
RapidFax has a monthly fee of $9.95. They have no start-up fee. They do, however, have a hidden fee in that they charge five cents per page per month to store faxes online after 30 days. The plan we reviewed included 300 free combined incoming and outgoing pages per month. This is right in line with our Market Standard. They also offer a 30-day free trial.
It is easy to send a fax from RapidFax's online interface. You can fax a maximum of five documents at once. However, you can only send a fax to one recipient. Also, you cannot preview the entire fax before you send it, only the cover page. You can store your faxes online for 30 days for free, and at a fee of five cents per page per month afterwards. The length of time is equal to our Market Standard for online fax storage, but the fees are higher than our Market Standard. You can send faxes from and receive faxes at two different email addresses.
RapidFax offers local fax numbers in 24 states and DC. They do not offer (800) numbers, but they do offer free (866) numbers. Phone customer support is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST. Their customer support was thorough in their answers, but only correctly answered three of the five questions that we asked and changed names half way through the phone call (from RapidFax to eFax, which now owns RapidFax).
