MaxEmail Conclusion
MaxEmail's Plus plan is best suited for someone who wants a local fax number. Their monthly fee is Market Standard at $9.95 for 250 free incoming and 100 free outgoing pages, but their $10.00 start-up fee is outside our Market Standard. It's important to note that if you get a toll-free fax number, you don't receive any free incoming pages. MaxEmail's customer support answered all of our questions correctly. MaxEmail offers a 30-day free trial limited to 100 inbound pages and three 10-page outbound faxes.
MaxEmail has a monthly fee of $9.95. They also have a start-up fee of $10, which does not meet our Market Standard of no start-up fee. They do not have any hidden fees. The plan that we reviewed included 250 free incoming pages and 100 free outgoing pages per month. Our Market Standard for is 300 combined pages per month, so the fact that the pages aren't combined falls short of our standard. They offer a 30-day free trial.
The online interface is simple and easy to use, only requiring you to use one page to upload documents and to type your cover page. You can fax five documents at once. You can send a fax to an unlimited number of recipients. You cannot preview a fax. MaxEmail lets you store your faxes online free for 30 days, and then gives you the option of paying a flat $2.95 per month to store them for longer. The amount of time is exactly at our Market Standard, but the fee is not standard. However, since they give you the option to store your faxes longer than 30 days, the fee is not considered a hidden fee. You are able to send and receive faxes at up to 25 different email addresses.
MaxEmail offers local fax numbers in 30 states along with Washington D.C. They do not offer (800) numbers, but they do offer (866), and (877) numbers at the same cost as a local number. They do not offer phone customer support. The email customer support is knowledgeable and answered all of our questions correctly. We haven't received much user feedback about MaxEmail, but the feedback that has been submitted has been positive.
