RingCentral Releases Smartphone Apps for Fax (and Phone Systems)
The software-as-a-service (SaaS) telecom giant, RingCentral, has come out with one of its most handy features for online fax yet. With its release of completely free apps for the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry operating systems, RingCentral has opened up a way to receive and forward faxes from wherever you are.
Whether you’re connected to a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G network, getting a fax is as simple as opening up the app and checking your inbox. While it doesn’t allow for the scanning and sending of faxes, you can still forward faxes you receive to other fax numbers through the app.
The other features of RingCentral’s smartphone apps are geared toward its VoIP and virtual PBX customers. These include making long distance calls over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G networks (instead of racking up charges) as well as viewing call logs and your phone directory to dial people “with a single touch.”
All-in-all, this is a great addition to a service that’s constantly improving its feature set. RingCentral’s apps combine the usefulness of its SaaS products with the convenience of having those same capabilities with you at all times on your smartphone.
