UnityFax Conclusion
UnityFax has a few drawbacks, but their product and customer support are solid and they continue to make improvements. Their pricing is right in line with our "market standard" and they include unlimited incoming pages and 250 outgoing pages. However, they charge an activation fee and do not have a true free trial, which is outside our "market standard". UnityFax continues to improve its service, and they recently added an email-to-fax function and expanded their online storage to include an archive of sent faxes, as well as outgoing. Their online interface is a little hard to navigate. Sending/Receiving faxes requires two different interfaces: UnityFax.com for incoming faxes and FaxORama.com for outgoing faxes. However, if you prefer to fax from your email program, then this shouldn't be a problem.
UnityFax's customer support was very friendly and responsive. Email inquiries are encouraged, and usually responded to faster than phone inquiries. If you need a toll free number, UnityFax charges $11.99/month and includes 300 combined pages.
UnityFax's biggest strength is the ability to manage multiple fax accounts (numbers), and discounts are offered for 10 or more numbers. Once you sign-up for an account, your primary email address is assigned an 'admin' and 'user' account. As as 'admin,' you can manage account settings for all your fax numbers, including billing information, monthly activity reports and adding/deleting users. The only drawback is that the 'admin' does not have access to the actual faxes under each account. You must log-in as a 'user' to see these. It would have been nice to see this all managed under the same interface.
